Hey Notes: The Font That Makes Your Campaigns Feel Human

It’s 9 a.m. and I’m knee-deep in finalizing the visuals for our upcoming product launch. The team has been working on a fresh brand identity, and today is the day we bring it all together. We’re launching a line of minimalist home goods, and the message needs to feel warm, approachable, and authentic. That’s where Hey Notes comes in.

A Font with Personality

Hey Notes isn’t just another script font—it’s a handwritten typeface that brings playfulness and authenticity to every project. It’s the kind of font that feels like someone picked up a pen and wrote your message right then and there. Its irregular, flowing lines and natural variations give it a unique charm that stands out in a sea of sterile digital typography.

When I first saw Hey Notes, I knew it would be perfect for this campaign. It has that handcrafted feel that aligns with our brand’s ethos—simple, elegant, and human. Unlike many other script fonts that can look too polished or even unapproachable, Hey Notes feels like it was designed with real people in mind.

From Concept to Campaign

We started by brainstorming key visual elements for the launch. The main message was about bringing warmth into everyday life, so the visuals needed to reflect that. I began sketching out some social media posts and thumbnails, experimenting with different layouts and text placements.

One of the first decisions was choosing the right font for headlines. We wanted something that could stand out in feeds, but also maintain readability across different platforms. Hey Notes worked wonders here. It added a personal touch without overwhelming the viewer. For instance, when I used it for the headline “Welcome Home” in one of the Instagram posts, it immediately felt inviting and genuine.

I also used Hey Notes for the main tagline of our landing page. The font helped reinforce the brand’s personality while keeping the message clear and direct. It wasn’t too flashy, which was exactly what we needed for a minimalist aesthetic.

Designing for Different Platforms

As I moved through the campaign, I had to consider how Hey Notes would perform on various platforms. Social media graphics, YouTube thumbnails, and email banners all have different requirements, and the font needed to adapt accordingly.

For Instagram posts, I made sure to use Hey Notes in larger sizes so it remained legible on mobile screens. I also tested it against dark and light backgrounds to ensure contrast and clarity. On Pinterest, where thumbnails are often small, I paired Hey Notes with a clean sans serif font for supporting text, making sure the main headline still stood out.

YouTube thumbnails required a bit more care. I used Hey Notes for the title, but kept the subtitle in a more readable sans serif font. This helped balance the design while maintaining the brand’s signature style.

Font Pairing and Readability

While Hey Notes is a standout font on its own, it works best when paired with complementary styles. I found that pairing it with a modern sans serif like Montserrat or Lato created a nice contrast that enhanced readability without sacrificing character.

For web design and branding, I recommend using Hey Notes for headers, logos, and promotional banners. It’s ideal for short headlines, callouts, and decorative titles. However, it’s not suitable for long blocks of text due to its decorative nature. That’s why I used it sparingly in our campaign, focusing on key messages rather than full paragraphs.

Readability is always a top priority, especially on fast-scrolling feeds. I made sure to test Hey Notes in different contexts—on dark backgrounds for video overlays and light backgrounds for banners—and adjusted sizing and spacing as needed. It performed well in most scenarios, though I noticed that smaller text on mobile devices sometimes lost clarity.

Branding Consistency and Campaign Impact

One of the biggest benefits of using Hey Notes was how it helped unify our brand identity. From social media posts to email banners, the font provided a consistent visual language that reinforced our message. It made the campaign feel cohesive and intentional.

For the launch announcement, I used Hey Notes in a quote graphic that appeared across multiple platforms. The font’s playful yet professional tone made the message feel both personal and trustworthy. It also helped differentiate our campaign from competitors who used more generic fonts.

Another example was the webinar promotion. We used Hey Notes for the event title, paired with a clean serif font for the date and time. This combination created a balance between personality and professionalism, which resonated well with our audience.

Final Checks and Best Practices

Before finalizing everything, I made sure to check the font’s included styles, alternates, ligatures, weights, file formats, and multilingual support. These details are essential for ensuring the font works across all platforms and campaigns. I also verified that Hey Notes is commercially licensed, which is crucial for any client-facing or branded content.

If you’re considering Hey Notes for your next campaign, remember to use it strategically. It’s a great choice for headlines, labels, and decorative text, but avoid using it for large body copy. Always pair it with a clean, readable font for supporting text, and test it across different screen sizes and backgrounds to ensure optimal performance.

Whether you’re designing social media graphics, building a brand identity, or creating a promotional campaign, Hey Notes can add that extra touch of personality that makes your message stand out. It’s not just a font—it’s a tool for connection, creativity, and clarity.
